Abstract

1443456 Carpet fasteners L R SUTTON C P RANNO and K HEWSON 12 July 1973 [13 July 1972] 33177/73 Heading A4S A carpet fastener comprises an elongate member 24 having inclined projections 36 and similarly inclined walls 40, 42 whereby the fastener can be easily withdrawn from a die in which it has been formed. Apertures 30 in the member 24 also have inclined walls. The fastener is preferably formed by injection moulding of plastics material such as polystyrene, polyethylene, polyester, polyether, polyureas and polyurethane. The apertures permit the member 24 to be easily broken to a convenient length, and it is secured to a floor by nails or an adhesive.
