1443391 Coated wall surfaces S SAMURA 28 April 1975 00189/74 Heading B2E A waterproof decorative membrane with a textured pattern is formed on the structure of a wall surface by mixing a polyurethane, polysulphide or silicone elastic material with a curing agent to a viscosity of between 25000 and 200000 cps measured with a Brookfield rotational viscosimeter using a rotor No. 7 at 10 rpm and at 20‹C under thixotropy index range between 0.5 and 0.9 measured with a Brookfield rotational viscosimeter using a rotor No. 7 at 20‹C the thixotropy index being defined as being equal to and spraying the mixed material on to a vertical wall surface in a thickness of at least 0.5 mm with a spray gun to form a non-textured pattern. The pattern may be a crater, orange peel or glaciate pattern. The elastic material may comprise 100 parts of liquid polysulphide, 30-80 parts of filler, 10-20 parts of pigment, 5-25 parts plasticiser and 0-2 parts of thixotropic agent and 0-20 parts of solvent. The curing agent may be 7 to 9 parts of PbO curing agent, 0-10 parts of plasticiser, 0-10 parts of filler and 0-5 parts of retardant. The polyurethane elastic material may contain 100 parts of polyurethane prepolymer with 3.7 mol percent of NCO, and a curing agent may be 40-80 parts of diamine solution in polyol or 40-95 parts of polyol only, from 90-100 parts of filler, 10-20 parts of pigment, 0-20 parts of plasticiser, 0-2 parts of thixotropic agent and 0-50 parts of solvent. To obtain a surface having a socalled glaciate type the polyurethane contains 5 mol percent of NCO. Other suitable compositions are also specified.
