Abstract

1443340 Lamps RANK XEROX Ltd 21 Dec 1973 59385/73 Heading F4R [Also in Divisions G2 and H5] A lamp for use as a fuser in an electrostatic copying machine comprises a linear filament 19 disposed within a cylindrical quartz tube 18 which is partially embedded in a reflective material 22 supported in a metal shield 23. The material is preferably a ceramic fibre felt which is bleached white by the heat from the lamp. The back portion 21 of the tube is generally of circular cross-section but may be elliptical or parabolic.
