H1K A rectifier bridge includes A.C. terminals 8- 10 and rectifier cells in recesses in an insulating distance piece 5 interconnecting two D.C. busbars 1, 2 with one pole of each cell pressed against one A.C. terminal and the other pole against a bus-bar, and additional recesses in the distance piece 5 accommodating further rectifier cells 12-14 having one pole connected to one of the A.C. terminals and the other pole connected to another bus-bar 15 fixed in a slot in the distance piece 5. The distance piece 5 may have a comb-shaped recess for a comb-shaped support defining the additional recesses and carrying the rectifier cells 12-14 and the additional bus-bar 15. In an alternative embodiment, the rectifier bridge is horse shoe shaped.
