1442490 Liquid crystal compositions DAI NIPPON TOKYO KK 1 July 1974 [30 June 1973 10 June 1974] 29112/74 Heading C4X [Also in Divisions H3-H5] Nematic liquid crystal compositions with positive dielectric anisotropy suitable for use in an electro-optic "twist" cell comprise by weight: (a) 40% p - methoxybenzylidene - p<SP>1</SP> - n - butylaniline (MBBA); 40% p - ethoxybenzylidenep<SP>1</SP> - n - butylaniline (EBBA); and 20% phydroxybenzylidine - p<SP>1</SP> - nitroaniline, or (b) 27% MBBA; 27% EBBA; 26% p-ethoxybenzylidene - p<SP>1</SP> - n - heptylaniline; 10% p - cyanobenzylideneaniline; and 10% pcyanophenyl-p<SP>1</SP>-n-octyloxybenzoate.
