Abstract

Protectors, securing.-Detachable heels which are secured by a grooved metal plate engaging another metal plate or the equivalent have the metal plates the same shape as the heel and one or both plates dished, as in Fig. 2. The plates are prevented from disengaging by projections 17 entering depressions 18, or by a separate catch device 20, Fig. 9, on one part of the heel engaging the other part. In modifications, one metal plate is dispensed with, and the upturned edges of the curved plate engage the adjacent lift of the heel. In the case of a rubber heel the rubber is moulded round a portion 12, Fig. 6, of the metal plate 7.
