Abstract
1441432 Metering liquid NIHON DENSHI KK 14 Aug 1973 [15 Aug 1973 (3)] 39508/73 Heading B8N [Also in Division G1] A sample measuring valve comprises (Fig. 3) rotatable member 17 between and in sliding contact with upper and lower member 18, 19, the valve members being of polytetrafluorethylene resin, borosilicate glass or ruby, rotatable member 17 having ten accurately machined holes of equal volume through it, and upper and lower members 18, 19 each having two throughways, one for flow of reagent to wash out a metered aliquot of sample from one of the measuring holes and the other for flow of cleaning solution through an adjacent measuring hole. The valve members are assembled as in Fig. 2, spring-loaded ball 182 bearing on the upper part of cylinder 180 which houses member 18 and rotatable member 17 supported in yoke 193 being moved through Geneva gear 196, bevel gears 199, 201 and motor 203. A similar, distribution valve (Fig. 5, not shown) has a rotor member and upper and lower fixed member of polytetraflurorethylene resin or ruby. The upper member has a circular channel on its inner face and two throughways, one communicating with the circular channel, the lower member has a plurality of throughways and the rotor member has two throughways, one of which is slanted and communicates with the second throughway in the upper member. In use, sample is taken in through the second throughway in the upper member and cleaning fluid through the first and hence through the circular channel.
