1441416 Detergent containing bleach HENKEL & CIE GmbH 27 July 1973 [31 July 1972] 35809/73 Heading C5D [Also in Division Dl] A bleaching assistant comprises drop-shaped to globular particles each having an average diameter of 0À01 to 2À5 mm., 70 to 100% wt. of the particles each having an average diameter of 0À01-1 mm. and being composed of (1) 10-70% wt. of a per-compound activator which is a N-acyl, O-acyl compound the "activation value" of which is more than 3, and (2) 30-90% wt. of a mixture of (a) one or more saturated fatty acids and/or saturated hydroxy fatty acids, which acid or acids have 12-24 carbon atoms and which may be in admixture with fatty acids having 8-12 carbon atoms and/or unsaturated fatty acids provided that the content of saturated fatty acids having 8-12 carbon atoms and unsaturated fatty acids taken together is less than 20% out of the total weight of fatty acids; and (b) C10-C20 aliphatic alcohols which may be alkoxylated with 1 to 5 alkoxy groups per molecule in the weight ratio of 10 to 2 : 1. The term "activation value" is defined and relates to the number of ml. of thiosulphate solution titrated into an activator, peroxide, iodide/starch/acid/buffer solution. Specified activators include N-polyacylated amines; diacylated arylamines; diacylated alkylhydantoins, N - alkyl - N - sulphonyl carbonamides, nitrobenzamide and methoxybenzamide; N-acylated cyclic hydrazides; acylated triazoles or urazoles; N-benzoyl-, O- acetyl-, O-methoxybenzoyl-, O-nitrobenzoyl N,N - succinyl - hydroxylamine; O,N,N - triacetylhydroxyl amine; N,N - diacyl sulphurylamides, triacyl cyanurates; carboxylic acid anhydrides; glucose pentaacetate; diacyldiacyloxy-imidazolines; tetraacyl glycolurils; diacylated diketopiperazines; acylated alkylureas; and salts of alkoxycarbonyl-oxy-benzoic acid. The aliphatic alochols may be decyl, lauryl, myristal, cetyl, arachyl, coconut, tallow alcohols, oxoketoalcohols and alkoxylated alcohols. The globular or drop-like form of the composition may be produced by spraying or by a rotating disc spray. The bleaching assistant composition may be mixed with pigments, alkali metal peroxides, e.g. sodium, perborate, alkali metal percarbonates, perpyrophosphates and persilicates, or urea perhydrate, and soaps and detergents, e.g. specified aklylbenzenesulphonates, olefinesulphonates, alkysulphonates, alkylsulphates, sulpho-fatty acid esters, sulphates of alkoxylated alcohols and alkyl phenols, sodium salts of coconut, palm, kernel or tallow fatty acids, alkylsulphobetaines, alkali metal or ammonium salts of ethanolamines, polyglycol ether derivatives of alcohols, fatty acids and alkyl-phenols, ethylene oxide adducts of polyglycols, alkylpolyglycols and alkylaminopolyglycols, sodium polyphosphates, aminopolycarboxylic acids, sodium salts of polyvalent hydroxycarboxylic acids or ether-carboxylic acids, polyalkylene acids or copolymers thereof with other unsaturated compounds, alkali metal silicates, carbonates, bicarbonates and borates, optical brighteners, e.g. diamino stilbene-disulphonic acids containing morpholine or diethanolamine groups, diarylpyrazolines, aminocoumarines, benzimidiazolylhydroxyethyl - benzimidazolyl - ethylene, phenyl diethylamino carbostyril, benzoxzolyl - thiophene, benzoxazolyl - naptho - thiophene, methylbenzoxazolyl ethylene, enzymes, e.g. proteases, lipases and anylases and specified bacterial or fungal enzymes; sodium sulphate, magnesium silicate halogenated phenolethers and thioethers, halogenated carbanilides and salicylanilides, halogenated diphenylmethanes, dirt carriers, e.g. sodium carboxymethyl cellulose; fatty acids, fatty acid esters and triglycerides, trialkylmelamines and dialkyl or tetralkylureas.
