Abstract

1441406 Air passages in vehicles BAYERISCHE MOTOREN WERKE AG 23 Aug 1973 [26 Aug 1972] 40101/73 Heading B7B In a bonnet 2 pivotally supported on a vehicle body at its forward edge, a fresh air inlet opening 6 at its rear edge leads into a first section of an air duct 12 integral with the bonnet which when closed connects the first section of the duct 12 to a second section formed in part by the front wall 15 of the vehicle body. The bonnet 2 may first slide forwardly and be pivoted upwardly for opening. An air deflector 10 integral with the bonnet together with a reinforcing plate 9<SP>1</SP> forms the first section of the duct which, by means of rudder seals 13, 14 bonded on a wind deflector 5 and on the plate 10 respectively, is connected to an opening 12<SP>11</SP> formed in the front wall 15. The inlet 6 is provided with a ribbed entry grid 8.
