Abstract

1441245 Treating anodized aluminium KODAK Ltd 22 Nov 1973 [23 Nov 1972] 54203/72 Heading C7B [Also in Division G2] Anodized Al for preparing a presensitized lithographic printing plate, containing an Al salt (e.g. sulphate from anodizing in H 2 SO 4 ) more soluble than Al(OH) 3 in the anodic layer, is treated by bathing it in an aqueous solution containing PO 4 ion e.g. H 3 PO 4 , NH 4 H 2 PO 4 or Na 3 PO 4 and having a pH < 4 or > 10À5, then washing it with an aqueous solution having a pH between 4 and 10À5 and a degree of total hardness not more than 70 ppm e.g. demineralized water.
