Abstract

1440529 Valves PONT-A-MOUSSON SA 12 Sept 1973 [18 Sept 1972 27 Aug 1973] 42853/73 Heading F2V A valve for releasing gas from a liquid container comprising a float 22 which co-operates with an orifice 25 in an upper chamber of a housing is provided with a second float 10 in a lower chamber communicating with the upper chamber which second float is normally held away from a valve seat 9 but which on dismantling of the upper part of the housing automatically closes against the valve seat so that inspection can be carried out without leakage from the container. In the embodiment shown in Fig. 1 the float 10 is held by grid 13 and is supported by a strainer 11. The grid in turn is held down by ribs 16 on the cap 2 of the housing. Both floats may be made of flexible material. In a second embodiment the float 10 is integral with a member which extends through the seat 9 and which has a diameter larger than the seat 9 so that it acts as a retainer for the second float and abuts the first float so that the second float is normally held away from the seat.
