Abstract

1439748 Moulds for interfitting shaped pieces J M C SAVAGE 18 Sept 1973 [11 Aug 1973] 37603/72 Heading B5A [Also in Division A6] A mould for the production of interfitting shaped pieces 10 comprises a tray 1 having slotted side walls 4, 5 and flexible slotted partition strips 6a, 6b which may be interlocked with each other and with the walls to define individual mould cavities for the pieces 10; as shown, the strips 6 are of such a length that they buckle when fitted into the side walls to produce the desired variety in shape of the moulded pieces. The moulding material may be plaster, clay or paper pulp and the final product may be used as a puzzle. Various decorative elements may be set in the surface of the pieces (e.g. beads, glass or ceramics), and, if the pieces are cemented together after removal from the mould, the product may be used as a decorative panel. Instead of a tray 1, the mould may merely comprise a frame defined by the side walls 1 which may be used on a flat surface. The side walls themselves may be adjustable to provide frames of different sizes.
