Abstract
1439656 Vehicle electro hydraulic power lift systems KLOCKNER-HUMBOLDTDEUTZ AG 29 June 1973 [6 July 1972] 31109/ 73 Heading A1P An electro-hydraulic power lift for a vehicle has two lower draft links 8 each adjustable by jacks 15 so that any desired vertical height ratio between the two links can be. electrically selected and this ratio maintained by an electro-hydraulic control device throughout the range of control of the lift system. The links 8 are connected to variable resistances 52 and 53 (Fig. 5) forming part of a bridge circuit 52, 53, 54 and 55 with a current source 56. The desired vertical height ratio of the draft links 8 is selected on the variable resistance 55. Any variation in height ratio of the links relative to that selected at 55 will result in a voltage difference between points 57 and 58 which is fed to a relay 59 which actuates an electro-hydraulic valve 60 to supply fluid from the pump 71 to the jacks 15 to restore the height ratio selected. The bridge circuit 52-55 includes resistors 62 and 63 of identical value and their junction 61 is connected through the winding of a relay 67 to the slider 66 of a potentiometer 64, 65 also connected across the current source 56. Since resistors 62 and 63 are of equal value the potential at the junction 61 corresponds to the mean height of the two draft links 8. The slider 66 is set to a value equivalent to the desired mean height of the draft links. Any difference in voltage between the point 61 and the slide 66 will operate the relay 67 which actuates the electro-hydraulic valve 68 to supply fluid from the pump 71 to the jacks 15 so that the mean height of the two draft links is restored to that selected by the slider 66. The relay 59 that supplies current for the valve 60 also supplies current to a relay 70. Operation of the relay 70 ensures no current is fed to the valve 68 while the valve 60 is being operated..
