Abstract

1439509 Dispersions of TFE polymers E I DU PONT DE NEMOURS & CO 22 Oct 1973 [27 Oct 1972] 49085/73 Heading C3P An aqueous dispersion of tetrafluoroethylene polymer contains from 1-6% by wt. based on the polymer of non-ionic surfactant and at least 1% of a hydrophilic alkylene oxide polymer which does not act as a surfactant. The resulting dispersions have greater storage stability than compositions using surfactants alone. In examples the polymer is polytetrafluoroethylene, the surfactants used are and and the alkylene oxide polymers are polyethylene glycol, methoxypolyethylene glycol, an ethylene oxide polymer with some propylene oxide and decaglycerol.
