Abstract
The polyazo dyes of the formula <IMAGE> are obtained by coupling tetrazo compounds of diamines of the formula <IMAGE> with coupling components of the formulae K1H and K2H (see Claim 1 for the meanings of the symbols I, J, K1, k2 and X). The dyes are suitable for dyeing and printing natural and synthetic materials, in particular natural or regenerated cellulose fibres. The dyeings generally have better wet fastness properties than the corresponding prior art benzidine dyes. A further advantage of the dyes of the above-indicated formula over the corresponding benzidine dyes is that, unlike the latter, they are not toxic.
