Abstract

1438947 Strippable lettering arrays LETRASET INTERNATIONAL Ltd 8 Aug 1973 [8 Aug 1972] 36980/72 Heading B6C Plastics film indicia arrays on backing sheets are produced by forming a laminate from a sheet of the film, a pressure-sensitive adhesive and a backing sheet, then die-cutting through the film and pressure-sensitive adhesive to define the indicia and separating unwanted parts by applying a second adhesive to them, adhering a member and removing the member with the unwanted parts on it. Preferably the film is cut by a heated die and the unwanted parts are stencilled with spots or areas of the second adhesive, and are adhered to a paper sheet. The indicia may be of polyvinyl chloride, polyvinyl acetate, polyurethane, polyethylene terepthalate, polyethylene or polypropylene.
