Abstract
1438520 Particle analysis apparatus BECTON DICKINSON & CO 21 June 1973 [21 June 1972] 29524/73 Heading G1N To provide an easily cleanable aperture in Coulter type apparatus for investigating particles suspended in a fluid, the aperture ruby 48 is a press-fit in a thin flexible polyester sheet 36 which slides between acrylic plates 54, 56 containing the cell. The stainless steel inlet and outlet tubes 24, 26 act as electrodes. Central recesses 88 in the plates hold 'O'-rings 90 to seal with the slide (or with one another when the slide is withdrawn). The cell plates 54, 56 are screwed to a base block 52 having bore therein to accomodate a sample bottle 22 which is retained by a plastics blade-spring catch 76. Alternatively the base may connect to a conduit for continuous 'in line' monitoring.
