Abstract

1438236 Vial washing machine E CIONI L CIONI and R ANICHINI 11 March 1974 [12 March 1973] 10669/74 Heading B8T A vial washing machine comprises an inclined surface 1A feeding the vials from reservoir 1 to an intermittently moving endless conveyer 3 having a plurality of rows of seats 26 to receive the inverted vials, needles 75 which are raised to enter the vials when the vials are stationary and effect the washing and a discharge system which includes the seats 26 being inclined and subjected to vibration at the discharge point, and oscillating wall members 122 to carry the vials into an upright position. The needles 75 inject various fluids into each vial, in sequence, as the conveyer 3 advances. A structure 87 is provided to hold the vials in place when the needles 75 are injecting fluids and there is a sensing device 8 which detects irregular positioning of the vials. On the surface 1A, movable blades 36 define channels, and expelling members 57 raise the vials on to arcuate slide channels 59 which progressively tilt the vials so that they slide down into the seats 26.
