1437894 Substituted 2-aminothiazoles EGYT GYOGYSZERVEGYESZETI GYAR 4 Nov 1974 [9 Nov 1973] 47688/74 Heading C2C Novel compounds of Formula I wherein R<SP>1</SP> is pyridyl, R<SP>2</SP> is H or C 1-5 alkyl and R<SP>3</SP> is H, C 1-5 alkyl, hydroxyalkyl, C 3-6 cycloalkyl, allyl, 2-furylmethyl or a carbethoxy group provided that both R<SP>2</SP> and R<SP>3</SP> are not both H and acid addition salts thereof are prepared by reaction of a compound of Formula II wherein X is halogen with a compound of Formula III Cyclopropylthiourea is prepared by reaction of benzoyl chloride and ammonium rhodanide and cyclopropylamine followed by treatment with NaOH. 3 - (α - Bromopropionyl) - pyridine hydrobromide is obtained from 3-propionylpyridine by treatment with Br 2 and HBr. Pharmaceutical compositions in conventional forms for oral, rectal or parenteral administration and having diuretic activity comprise an above novel compound and a carrier or diluent.
