Abstract
1437194 Continuous rail track circuit WESTINGHOUSE AIR BRAKE CO 18 Sept 1973 [18 Sept 1972] 43625/73 Heading B7H In a continuous rail track circuit system, each junction between circuits, e.g. LT, RT includes a cross bond 3, a transmitter coil 4 coupled to the hand for supplying to the track a signal from a local source at mains frequency, or twice that frequency, via a contact a of a code repeater relay CTP, the signal being of the same frequency but different in phase to that supplied at adjacent junctions, a pair of receive loops LL, RL, one on each side of the junction, each connected to a phase sensitive unit P.S.U. which is also supplied from the local source with a signal in anti-phase to that supplied to the track so as to respond only to signals received via the track from the adjacent junctions, a code follower track relay LTR or RTR associated with each unit PSU and a timing logic arrangement 6 which controls sequential switching of the apparatus between transmit and receive modes. Unit 5 decodes the operation of the track relays to provide track occupancy information and determines the code rate for the code repeater relay CTP.
