Abstract

1436472 Receivers MOTOROLA Inc 11 Feb 1974 [1 March 1973] 06144/74 Headings H3T and H4L [Also in Division G4] A receiver designed to respond to the sequential application of at least two tones A, B comprises means for suppressing an output therefrom if tone B is received within a predetermined time after reception of tone A. Thus substantially simultaneous detection of tones due to shocking, jarring or other external influence on the receiver is ignored, and the receiver may safely use reed filters. Reception of tone A by filter 14 gives rise to a negative pulse which is differentiated at 31; if tone B is detected while 31 is still providing a negative poutput, then gate 32 is enabled. Latch 33 then operates to keep gate 32 open for the duration of the output from filter 15, while the output from gate 32 operates an inhibitor 21. In the embodiment of Fig. 3 the outputs from 14, 15 are applied to terminals 35, 51, the signal at 35 being differentiated at 36 to turn transistor 37 off. If a signal is applied to 51 while 37 is off, then transistor 50 is turned on, transistor tor 37 is clamped off and transistor 55 is turned on. The voltage at terminal 56 is then applied to inhibitor 21.
