1436214 Pesticidal and herbicidal organophosphorothioates SUMITOMO CHEMICAL CO Ltd 1 Aug 1973 [5 Aug 1972 12 Oct 1972 30 Nov 1972 (2) 6 Feb 1973 26 April 1973 24 May 1973] 36677/73 Heading C2P Novel compounds of Formula I where R 1 is C 1 -C 4 alkyl or C 3 -C 4 alkenyl or alkynyl, R 2 is C 1 -C 8 alkyl, C 3 -C 4 alkenyl or alkynyl, cycloalkyl, halo-substituted alkenyl, halo-substituted alkynyl, a phenyl group optionally substituted by 1 to 5 substituents selected from C 1 -C 4 alkyl, alkoxy, alkylthio, halo-substituted C 1 -C 4 alkyl and halogen or aralkyl optionally substituted by alkyl or halogen, R 3 is a piperidino group optionally substituted by 1 to 5 C 1 -C 4 alkyl groups, a hexamethyleneimino group or a 1-tetrahydroquinolyl group, R 4 is hydrogen or methyl and Y is oxygen or sulphur, except that when Y is 0, R 2 is not C 1 -C 8 alkyl, may be prepared by reacting a salt of Formula II where M is an alkali metal with a compound of (III) where Hal is halogen. The compounds of Formula I have insecticidal, acaricidal, nematocidal and herbicidal properties and may be used as the active ingredients in conventional pesticidal compositions.
