Abstract

1436177 Swimming pool covers L U ERLANDSSON L R ALSENHAG and T L E KARLSSON 13 July 1973 [28 July 1972] 33621/73 Heading A4N A cover for a generally rectangular swimming pool 1, comprises a plurality of rigid members 3 disposed transversely with respect to the pool and provided at each end with ball journalled runners (4), Fig. 4 (not shown) engaging rails 5 disposed along the length of the pool. One end 6 of a cloth or net 2 is secured to one edge of the pool and the other end is secured to a member 7 which, in the operative position of the cover, sealingly engages the opposed edge of the pool. The members 3 are movable by a piston and cylinder device 8, 9 cooperating with a rope 13 and pulley wheels 15. When the cover is fully extended, the piston 8 is locked automatically by means (20-22) and (24), Fig. 3 (not shown). The member 7 is provided with a device (25), Fig. 5 (not shown) adapted to co-operate with a spring-loaded piston (28) to lock the cover securely in position. The device 8, 9 is operated by purified pool water.
