Abstract

1435436 Palletizing containers SYNFINA SA 3 May 1974 [4 May 1973] 19600/74 Heading B8C A process of palletizing containers, such as bottles, comprises building up layers of the containers 3 on a pallet, each layer being separated by a sheet 2 of foamed polymeric material, which is capable of permanent expansion upon heating, and sheets of the foamed polymeric material also being positioned below and above the lowermost and uppermost layers respectively, covering the loaded pallet with heat shrinkable polyethylene film and heat treating the covered load at a temperature of 200‹ to 250‹ C. to shrink the polyethylene film and expand the sheets of foamed polymeric material. The sheets 2 may be sheets of expanded polystyrene having a thickness of 2À5 to 4 mm.
