Abstract

1435158 Lamps MINNESOTA MINING & MFG CO 23 July 1973 [24 July 1972] 35036/73 Heading F4R A kit for enlarging the size of a traffic light signal comprises a Fresnel-type positive lens 20 having a focal length of 20 to 25À4 cm. disposed at the larger end of a tapered frame 12 and a light-transmitting diffuser 14 disposed at the smaller end, at least a portion of the diffuser being closer to the lens than to its focal point. The kit is intended to be fastened to the door 6 of a traffic light in place of the conventional lens. The Fresnel lens 20 is inclined to the vertical at an angle of 5 degrees and has a sun shield 24. The diffuser 14 is made from coloured glass and has a roughened surface.
