Abstract

1434247 Typewriter ribbon spools KORES HOLDING ZUG AG 26 June 1973 [31 July 1972] 30301/73 Heading B8M An ink ribbon spool comprises two identical spool halves 1a, 1b each comprising a hub portion 2a, 2b and a flange portion 3a, 3b, each hub portion being made of plastics material and each flange of sheet metal embedded into the hub portion by moulding. The flange portion includes radially extending dove-tail portions 23 for embedding in the hub portion. The two halves are secured together by mating pins 4a and recesses 5b provided on each half, each half having at least one pin and at least one recess. Each half is also provided with a slot 6a, 6b extending parallel to the spool axis and along a chord of the hub, recesses, e.g. 106 being provided substantially tangential to the slot 6. A sheet metal strip 7 having arrow heads 8 is inserted in the slot 6 with the heads 8 protruding over the hub surface for attachment of the ink ribbon. The metal strip 7 is also provided with rolled portions, e.g. 14, 15 which locate in the recesses such as 106. The hub is also provided internally with projecting lugs 22 which centre the spool on a driving shaft, keyways 21 also being provided in end walls 20 of the hub portions for engaging with driving pins.
