Abstract
1433974 Preparation of tin fluoroborate RIEDEL-DE HAEN AG 11 Nov 1974 [12 Nov 1973] 48689/74 Heading C1A Stannous fluoroborate is prepared by the reaction of tin particles at least partially immersed in fluoroboric acid and a free-oxygencontaining gas in co-current. The Figure (not shown) comprises a cylindrical outer vessel enclosing a cylindrical insert which is surrounded by a heating element. The upper walls and bottom of the insert are perforated, and the insert is filled with tin particles. Outer and inner vessels are filled with aqueous fluoroboric acid. The oxygen-containing gas (e.g. air) is blown in through the perforated base of the insert and causes the liquid to be carried upwards in cocurrent and circulated through the upper perforations and down between the two compartments. The invention may be performed at 20- 100‹ C., preferably 50-80‹ C., and the tin particles may have a surface area of 0À1-20 cm.<SP>2</SP>g.<SP>-1</SP>, preferably 1-10 cm.<SP>2</SP>g.<SP>-1</SP>.
