Abstract

1433927 Coaxial cables FELTEN & GUILLEAUME KABELWERKE AG 11 May 1973 [6 June 1972] 22644/73 Heading H1A In an air-spaced coaxial r.f. cable, a tubular inner conductor 1 with annular, i.e. non-helical, corrugation grooves, the axial pitch of which is not less than 0À3 times the conductor diameter, is supported centrally within a helically-corrugated outer conductor 3 by moulded thermoplastics spacers 2, which comprise spoke members 4a, 4b, 4c, interconnected by spring members 5a, 5b, and which engage with the corrugations of both inner and outer conductors. The spacers 2 are disposed at axial intervals between 0À6 and 0À75 times the sum of the inner and outer conductor diameters. Each spoke member has a part-cylindrical member 6 with an inwardly circumferential projection 7 engaging a corrugation groove of the inner conductor, and the outer cylindrical surface of the spacer is provided with axial beads 8a, 8b, 8c, which with plastic deformation engage with the outer conductor corrugations.
