Abstract

1433191 Bricklayer's lines M SLATTERY 19 April 1973 19250/73 Heading E1S An end support for a bricklayer's line comprises a generally L-shaped block moulded in one piece from a rigid synthetic plastics material, for engaging a corner of brickwork, an internal surface of one limb 11 having a groove 14 extending centrally therealong, and the same limb 11 having an inner end of reduced thickness to provide a gap in the angle between the limbs. The other limb 12 has a slot 17 aligned with the groove 14, and in use the end portion of the line is passed through the groove and the slot and wound round the reduced thickness portion of the limb 11. The gap contains a bridging piece 21 having an inner concave face 22. The block is mainly hollow, as shown, and a pair of blocks have co-operating corner formations 23, 24 for close nesting when not in use. A pair of blocks are held to a wall in use by tension in the line extending between them.
