Abstract

1432960 Cleaning balls for bearings SKF INDUSTRIAL TRADING & DEVELOPMENT CO BV 17 Dec 1973 [20 Dec 1972] 58420/73 Heading C7E Balls for bearings are cleaned by feeding balls 7 along a scroll 11 to the space between two slightly inclined plates 1, 2 having layers of foamed material 3 and being relatively rotatable in opposite directions about eccentric axes, so that the balls are fed along a helical path to the exit at the edge of the plates. The layers 3 may have holes 14 to allow the balls to rotate and the plates may have holes 15 to allow cleaning liquid to escape. The size of the inlet aperture 8 may be adjusted to regulate the number of balls fed to the plates.
