Abstract

1432691 Treating radioactive waste LICENTIA PATENT VERWALTUNGS GmbH 24 April 1973 [21 April 1972] 19222/73 Heading G6R Radioactively contaminated wash water from laundries, hand wash basins, or shower baths in a nuclear power station is treated by mixing with ion exchange resin which has been previously used for decontaminating condensate water from the reactor. Spherical ion exchange filter material which has been used for purifying another stream of waste water may also be added. The mixture is fed to a filter and the filter cake may be removed periodically by mechanical action, dried, and transferred to a container for storage.
