Abstract

1432507 Tensioning BLEICHE AG 23 May 1974 [6 June 1973] 23164/74 Heading DID A tension regulating device for a running thread comprises an air jet 5 directed against the thread an obstacle 11 which is movable in the direction of the jet of air in response to changes in tension. The pressure changes caused by movement of the obstacle are sensed by a transducer 14 arranged in the air jet and are used to control thread braking means 3 to adjust tension in the thread. The pressure changes detected by transducer 14 may be amplified by the diaphragm 20 (see Fig. 2 not shown). The obstacle may have holes 12 through which compressed air passes to reduce the friction of the running thread.
