1432471 Pipe couplings F BROOMHEAD 6 Feb 1974 [14 May 1973 10 July 1973] 5965/73 and 32776/73 Heading F2G A spigot and socket pipe joint is sealed by means of a slit tubular ring 23 of flexible material secured to the socket 21 by means of a waterresistant resin based adhesive. The adhesive may be an epoxy resin curable at ambient temperature and including a silane coupling agent, in a solution of toluene acetone and/or methylene chloride. The flexible material may be foamed rubber or a closed cell foamed plastic.
