Abstract

1432315 Bottling STORK AMSTERDAM BV 9 April 1974 [25 April 1973] 15588/74 Heading B8T A device for filling bottles 10 comprises a liquid container 1 at sub-atmospheric pressure which supplies liquid to a plurality of filling valves 2, each consisting of a liquid valve 3 and a central gas pipe 4 having two transverse channels 5, 11, a vertically slidable supporting table 6 forming part of a structure moving in the arrowed direction, and a stationary runway 9 having a bearing surface. In use the filling of the bottle 10 ceases when the liquid level reaches the upper channel 11 preventing gas escaping from the space A into the container 1 via the pipe 4. As the roller 8 contacts the inclined part 12 of the runway 9, the table 6 and bottle 10 descend and thus atmospheric pressure in the space A pushes liquid up the pipe 4 until the liquid level reaches channel 5. This ensures a constant level in each bottle 10, independent of the after-drop from the valve 2.
