1432157 Plaster compositions JAPAN SYNTHETIC RUBBER CO Ltd 19 June 1973 [19 June 1972 4 Aug 1972 6 Nov 1972] 29031/73 Heading C1H Aqueous slurries of calcined gypsum also comprise a polyvinyl alcohol and an aqueous solution of a metal compound (other than calcium sulphate) of a metal of Group Ib, II, IIIa, IV, Vb, VIb, VIIb or VIII of the Periodic Table appearing in the "Handbook of Chemistry and Physics" 51st Edition, published by The Chemical Rubber Co., Ohio, U.S.A. The metal compounds used in the examples are copper acetate, molybdenum dissolved in ammonia, titanium sulphate, titanium sulphate + hydrochloric acid, zinc acetate + aqueous triethylene diamine, potassium bichromate, aluminium chloride + hydrochloric acid, stannous chloride + hydrochloric acid, vanadium pentoxide dissolved in hydrochloric acid, ferric chloride, and calcium acetate + aqueous ammonia. The polyvinyl alcohol can be a saponification product of a polyvinyl ester or of a copolymer or graft copolymer. The composition prepared in the examples also include ingredients such as glass fibre, polypropylene fibre, foamed polystyrene beads, volcanic glass, carboxylated SBR latex, urea-formaldehyde resin, melamineformaldehyde condensation products, and acrylonitrile-butadiene latex.
