Abstract

1432046 Chromatographic adsorbents JAMES CHIEN NAN MA 31 May 1973 26066/73 Heading B1H Particle mixtures for use as adsorbents in solid-fluid chromatography have 70 to 90 parts of coarse particles, wherein at least 90 weight percent of the particles have diameters within 10 percent of the average diameter, and 10 to 30 parts of fine particles, the average diameter of which being from 10 to 20 percent of the average diameter of the coarse particles, and having at least 50 weight percent of said fine particles within 50 percent of the average diameter thereof. The particles may be of alumina, silica gel, kieselguhr, magnesium oxide, graphite, active carbon, polyamide, ion-exchange resins or molecular sieves. They may be used for layer or column chromatography and for gas or liquid chromatography.
