1431189 Comminuting apparatus A AHLSTROM OSAKEYHTIO 11 May 1973 [15 May 1972] 22604/73 Heading B2A [Also in Division F1] Packing rings 1, 4 and a pump impeller 2 each comprise sharp-edged grooves or notches 6, 7 co-operating with one another at the packing gap to provide means for tearing or cutting threads, fibres or sticks, the length of the grooves or notches being less than the overlap of the packing rings over the impeller and the grooves or notches of the impeller and packing rings co-operating to create intermittently openings through the packing gap.
