Abstract

1431037 Electro-plating patterns on metal strips GALENTAN AG 17 Jan 1975 [21 Jan 1974] 2093/75 Heading C7B Metal patterns are electro-plated on a metal strip passing over a circumferential slot 31 or other plating orifice in a divided wheel 7 having an internal electrolyte chamber containing an anode, there being seals 47 and 48 provided along the edges of the slot which form part of a conical surface whose apex for the respective seal points away from the slot. The angle α may be 30'. The wheel disclosed comprises parts 17 and 18 rotatable in ball bearings on fixed rod 19 central chambers 29, 30 contain fixed plastics parts 32, 33, each having a peripheral annular anode 61, 62, and the part 33 having a spiral chamber 36 which leads to a plurality of outlet points 40 separated by radially curved plastics ribs (38) and arranged in the lower part of the wheel Fig. 3 (not shown). Electrolyte enters via inlet 41 and is distributed via holes 42 to the spiral chamber. Excess electrolyte drains via holes 43, 44. Anodic current enters via wire 45. Part 17 is fixed laterally on the rod 19 while part 18 is laterally adjustable by screw thread on part 21 which is fixed. Ribs 26 engage slots 25 to prevent rotation of part 18 on the adjusting thread when adjustment is complete. Corresponding adjustment of guide and take-off rollers, which have guiding edge rims, is specified. Specification 1431036 is referred to.
