Abstract
1430992 Automatic voltage control DUCELLIER & CIE 5 June 1973 [13 June 1972] 26698/73 Heading G3R A vibratory contact regulator for a generator charging a battery has a self-induction coil connected between a diode and a capacitor in series across the regulator contacts. A regulating resistor is connected in parallel with the capacitor. As shown, a vehicle battery 3 supplying loads 4 is charged by a generator 1 with an excitation winding 2 connected in series with vibrating contacts 7, 8 across the battery. The moving contact 7 is operated by a coil 6. A capacitor 10 prevents voltage surge when the contacts are opened, and is able to discharge through regulating resistor 14. A diode 11 prevents discharge through the contacts 7, 8, and a self-induction coil 12 with a saturable ferrite core 13 eliminates momentary discharge during the recovery period of the diode.
