Abstract

1430264 Automatic control systems INDUSTRIAL NUCLEONICS CORP 7 March 1973 [8 March 1972] 11196/73 Heading G3R The description is identical with that of Specification 1404147 but the claims relate to a fibrous sheet making apparatus wherein sheet basis weight and moisture content are regulated in a first mode by control of material flow and dryer control, and in a second mode by control of material flow and speed, and by machine speed respectively. The system includes a memory which receives an input indicative of the presence, or otherwise of a re-wet system, second dryer, moisture control or basis weight control system. Whilst the apparatus is working in the first mode, the speed is increased by a ramp signal until a dryer limit is reached, when at least one of the following operations is performed - switching the ramp off, disabling the second moisture control system (if present) and switching the apparatus to the second mode of control.
