Abstract

1430185 Removing Fe inclusions from Ti PPG INDUSTRIES Inc 30 March 1973 [31 March 1972] 15356/73 Headings C6U and C7E To improve resistance to corrosion of Ti or an alloy thereof having Fe inclusions, e.g. when used in electrolytic cells, it is contacted with a mixture of HNO 3 and HCl. (HNO 3 5 to 20 and HCl 10 to 40 volume per cent). The Ti alloy may include Ni, Co, Mo, Nb, Al, Ta, Pd, Fe, and its surface may be abraded before contacting with acid.
