X or gammaray apparatus, having-on opposite sides of a body to be examined, and rotatable around the body about a common axis-a source providing a planar, sector-shaped swath of radiation, and a plurality of detector devices each arranged to receive radiation emergent from the body along a respective path and to provide signals indicative of the absorption suffered by the radiation in traversing the respective paths.
