Abstract

1429974 Electric timepieces N I INST CHASOV PROMYSHLEN 28 Aug 1973 40541/73 Heading G3T In an electric timepiece having a mechanical oscillator 8 which drives a ratchet wheel 4 via a motion converter, the latter comprises a resilient pawl 1 which is fixed at least at one of its ends to a framework part 2 and is deflected by the oscillator but advances the wheel 4 during its return stroke when it is uncoupled from the oscillator. The pawl has a natural frequency equal to or greater than one third of that of the oscillator. As shown the oscillator is a tuning fork carrying a push-rod 12 or a pull-rod (9), Fig. 1 (not shown). The oscillator may, however, be a balance carrying a pawl actuating cam (18), Fig. 5 (not shown) or a permanent magnet (16), Figs. 3, 4 (not shown). The pawl is then made of magnetizable material and may be fixed at both its ends. The pawl displacement is limited by stops 10, 11.
