Abstract

Consists in the use of absorbent charcoal instead of the usual catalysts for facilitating the combination or re-combination of chlorine with sulphur monochloride to form the dichloride. The completeness of the reaction of chlorine on the monochloride is determined by the increase of volume or weight.
