Abstract

1428630 Web dispensers GEORGIA PACIFIC CORP 24 May 1974 [9 Oct 1973] 23322/74 Heading B8M Part B A dispenser for a web of flexible sheet material, e.g. of the type in which a preselected length of supply web is severed after being withdrawn by a user and another such length is automatically fed outside the dispenser to be grasped by the next user, comprises a wheel 18 at one end of, and rotatable with, a dispensing roller 20 and eccentrically mounting a "cam" follower 16. A drive control spring comprises a portion 2 anchored to the dispenser chassis, as by post 8, an outwardly extending portion 4 abutting a stop 10 and another such portion 6 which co-operates with follower 16 for deflection thereby (as follower 16 moves from position A to B) during rotation of roller (as by the pull on web 22) and provides a decreasing resistance to roller 20 rotation while maintaining constant spring deflection during a portion of continued rotation (with follower 16 then moving from B to C along an arcuate portion 14 of the spring) within each dispensing cycle (on the latter part of which the springs forces the follower to rotate the wheel 18 and roller 20 from D to initial position A).
