Abstract

1428247 Washing machines PHILIPS ELECTRONIC & ASSOCIATED INDUSTRIES Ltd 2 Aug 1973 36695/73 Heading D1A [Also in Division F2] A mounting device for a domestic appliance such as a washing machine or spin-dryer comprises a wheel 3 rotatable on a common axle 4 with a cam 10 which cooperates with resilient means 12 to provide an increase in rotational resistance over part of each revolution of the axle. Preferably the resistance increases from zero and may act axially or radially of the cam. As shown in Fig. 2 a spring 12 acts on a respective 4 lobed cam on each side of a wheel supported in a mounting 5 which is vertically movable on bushes (6) (Fig. 3, not shown) secured to a machine frame (7) against the resistance of a helical spring 8. In Fig. 4 an elliptical cam 10 is engageable with the limbs of a U-shaped spring 14.
