Abstract
1427864 Excavators POCLAIN 24 Jan 1974 [25 Jan 1973] 03286/74 Heading E1F [Also in Divisions Fl and F2] In the circuit shown in Fig. 1 a relief valve 10 opens at a first pressure when both the pumps 13, 14 are connected to a ram 1 and opens at a second higher pressure when the pump 14 only is connected to the ram 1. With a valve 30 in the position shown the output of pumps 13, 14 is connected to either chamber 2 or chamber 3 of the ram 1 by a manually operated valve 4. If valve 30 is moved to connect the output of a pump 32 to lines 29, 28, a valve 19 is moved by pilot pressure in ram 21 to connect the output of pump 13 to the reservoir 9 and pressure of the ram 12 causes the overload valve to remain closed until a higher pressure is reached in the line 8. Fig. 2 shows the construction of the valve 10. When both pumps are connected to the ram a closure member 39 is held against a seat 38a by resilient washers 11. If only a single pump is delivering, pressure in a line 28 moves a piston 42 to the left and the pressure exerted by the piston is added to that of the washer 11 by a member 44 which abuts a stem 39a. As described, the ram 1 raises the boom 51, Fig. 3, of an earthworking machine.
