Abstract
1426698 Radiation detectors A P PEDRICK 23 April 1974 17808/74 Heading G1X In a radiation detector radiation entering tube 1 is focused by cofocal concave and convex parabolic mirrors 2, 3 and convex lens 4 on to a movably mounted plate 5. The plate may have a black or mirrored surface, Fig. 5 (not shown), and it is asserted that if black the plate is pushed against adjustable compression spring 10 or if mirrored is pulled against adjustable tension spring (10'), a predetermined level of radiation causing sufficient movement of the plate to bridge contacts 7. Applications of the detector to a fur colouration selective cat flap Figs. 6 and 7 (not shown) and an earth orbital automatic deterrent system, Figs. 8 to 10 (not shown) are also described.
