Abstract

1426668 Coating glass articles CORNING GLASS WORKS 15 July 1974 [23 July 1973] 31165/74 Headings B1X and B2E At least one surface of a glass article is treated to inhibit the adhesion of blood thereto by contacting the surface (especially by dipping) with an aqueous solution of polyethylene oxide polymer and subsequently gently drying the surface at a temperature of not more than 75‹C, particularly at 50-60‹C for 4-16 hours. The glass article may particularly be a test tube, pipette or microscope slide and is usually treated with an aqueous solution containing 0.01-1% by weight of polymer of average molecular weight 100000-300000.
