Abstract

1425511 Peptides AYERST MCKENNA & HARRISON Ltd 14 Feb 1973 [15 Feb 1972 12 April 1972] 7180/73 Heading C3H [Also in Division A5] The decapeptide I H-Pyr-Hls-Trp-Ser-Tyr- Gly-Leu-Arg-Pro-Gly-NH 2 is prepared in the form of its HCl salt by treating the hexapeptide II H - Pyr - His - Trp - Ser - Tyr - Gly - NHNH 2 CF 3 COOH salt in an anhydrous inert solvent with a strong mineral acid and an organic nitrite at - 30‹ to - 10‹ C., making the mixture alkaline by addition of a strong organic base, adding a solution of the tetrapeptide III H - Leu - Arg - Pro - Gly - NH 2 .2CH 3 COOH in an inert anhydrous solvent, agitating the mixture at - 30‹ to 0‹ C. and isolating the decapeptide as its HCl salt. Inorganic acid addition salts and complexes (with pharmaceutically acceptable metals) of the decapeptide I are claimed per se. The hexapeptide II trifluoroacetate is claimed per se in Specification 1,425,512. The tetrapeptide III diacetate is claimed per se in Specification 1,425,513.
